Megan and Joey Engagement Session :: Thomasville, GA Photographer

Megan and Joey were so great to work with! Megan did such a great job picking out clothing for their session. I loved everything they brought! They decided to have a few family photos with their daughter Madison as well! Talk about a beautiful little girl! She reminded me of a little china doll with her crystal blue eyes and clear skin.

Such a good looking family!

Chris and Blakely's Intimate Rooftop Wedding:: Charleston, SC Wedding Photographer

Chris and Blakely got married in Charleston! The ceremony was held on the roof top of a beautiful hotel downtown. It was a windy windy day, which I actually loved because her dress kept blowing everywhere which looked pretty neat! I really enjoyed visiting Charleston! They have great restaurants there not to mention the gorgeous parks and downtown area. I could have taken pictures all over town if I had the time! Here are just a few of my favorites.

Dahlia 10 months :: Thomasville, GA Baby Photographer

I am excited to show a few of the Evans family portraits. I love how Bryan and Kelly interact with Dahlia! Candid photos are so important in my opinion. So mom's, when you are about to go to have a pictures taken, I encourage you to relax and go with the flow with what your kids are willing to do. So many times we have a certain picture stuck in our head that we want taken. Even I do it when I'm photographing my boys. Most of us want to be able to put a photo on the wall that has everyone looking and smiling. But what you really get is forced smiles that don't look natural at all. Don't get me wrong, I like some photos where everyone is looking and you can capture everyone's eyes and smile. However the photos taken "in the moments between" are the best ones ever! This family is the perfect example of this.We took some of them looking but while they are playing with Dahlia I am snapping candids. The candids always end up being my favorites!

Oh yeah, and one more thing.... Have you ever tried to take a picture of your child in a cute outfit or simply you thought they looked good that day and wanted to snap a picture, only they wouldn't look, smile or just wined about it. This has happened to me a numerous times with my boys. I finally figured out the trick to getting them interested. First take a picture of them climbing a tree or of her and her doll, whatever they are interested in. Tell them, "we have never gotten a picture of your pretty doll and you before". Should I take one? I can guarantee you that they will say yes and smile and do whatever you tell them. And then after that you can get the shot that you were wanting and they will cooperate. Took me 5 years to figure that one out so I thought I would share it!
